Early Life
Sri Palakurthi Rama Chandra Sharma was born to Smt. Rajeshwari Devi and Sri. Palakurthi Lakshmi Narasimha Sharma (Devi Upasakulu,Harikatha Bhagavatar,Founder of Satyananda Ashramam) couple in Janagoan village,Warangal District.
Sri Palakurthi Rama chandra Sharma did not show much inclination towards studies and used to play various rhythm’s on pot utensils and any other articles found by him. His father noticed the tender fingers of his son playing on various articles and generating various rhythms and without any hesitation understood the vivid and luscious god gift his son possessed and knew his son will make a place for himself in Indian Classical Music not only in India but around the Globe, the musical life of Sri Palakurthi Rama chandra Sharma was put in motion at the tender age of eight years when he joined his Mrudangam Guru Sri Sri Kolanka Lakshman Rao.
He learn Mrudangam in traditional gurukul style by spending most of his time with his guru learning the intricacies of mrudangam and serving his guru,to further improve his skills he later joined Late Sri Vedantam Sambaiah Garu.

Career as a Mridangist
- At a very young age Sri Palakurthi Rama chandra Sharma started giving solo performances on stage and accompaniment,his performance was appreciated by very eminent musicians.
- Sri Palakurthi Rama chandra Sharma is not only successful as GURU but also as an Artist. He has immersed himself in Mrudangam and is contributing his vivid knowledge in classical music, dance, private albums and also has the distinction of performing in about more than fifteen movies.
- Sri Palakurthi Rama chandra Sharma regularly performs as a “B HIGH” grade artist with Doordarshan and All India Radio.
- Sri Palakurthi Rama chandra Sharma regularly accompanies some of the eminent artistes like Padmasree Dr. Shobha Naidu and Ashok Gurjale Symphony music of violin.
- Sri Palakurthi Rama chandra Sharma has not only performed all over India but also toured several countries like USA(8 times),Russia, France,West Indies,Brazil,Hong Kong,Singapore,Loas,Vietnam,Cambodia and is a permanent participant of various Government sponsored programs through India Council Of Cultural relation a member of troupe. He performed at Canada,Syria and recently a nine hours non stop performance as accompaniment in London.
Career as a Guru
Sri Palakurthi Rama chandra Sharma joined as Assistant Lecturer on 21 Sept 1992 at Government School of Music and Dance,Manthani. From Sept 1993 he woked at Sri Vidyaranya Govt college of Music and Dance,Warangal. Later from Sept 1995 to Aug 2018 he worked at Sri Bhakta Ramadasu Government College of Music and Dance,Secunderabad.
During this period he has trained many students as Mrudangists.Under his able guidance a girl child got selected for CCRT Scholarship for the first time in history of Government College of Music and Dance. Sri Palakurthi Rama chandra Sharma not only teaches his students but also make them perform at regular intervals.He made them perform at many Government organised Programs at RavindraBharathi,AG office as well as many sabhas.One of his student is working as Mrudangist at Hyderabad Central University.
Blessings and Appreciations
- Sri Palakurthi Rama chandra Sharma was also blessed when he performed before spiritual leaders Sri Jayendra Saraswati, Ganapathi Satchithananda Swamy and China Jeeyar Swamy. He even accompanied on mrudangam for Ganapathi Satchithananda Swamy.
- Sri Palakurthi Rama chandra Sharma was invited to perform in several official functions of Government of Telangana , Andhra Pradesh and Government of India.
- He was applauded and appreciated when he performed before Former Prme Minister Late P.V.Narasimha Rao, Governors Sri Surjit Singh Barnala, Sri Ranga Rajan, Sri Rameshwar Thakur. He was personally congratulated by Former President Of India Smt.Pratibha Patil.
- Sri Palakurthi Rama chandra Sharma is recipient of several awards for his various performances Nationally and Internationally. During his recent visit to U.S.A he was honored with Citizenship of “HONORARY TULSAN” in OKHLAMA by its mayor.
- Sri Palakurthi Rama chandra Sharma has been awarded the best teacher award on the Ugadi celebrations 2017 by the Govt. of Telangana.
