Veena

Apart from the Vocal basis, Karnatic music has its own tradition in instruments too. One of the important instruments played in such renowned music is VEENA. The Instrument Veena comes under the stringed music form where it is being played since the period of Goddess Saraswathi Devi. It is the ancient vaadhya where it has a great tradition in our country. The legends like Emani Shankara sastri, Chitti babu, Rajesh Vaidya, Sundaram Bala chander, Ayyagari Syamasundar, D. Srinivas etc are uplifting this tradition to our Karnatic music.

At present, Smt. Jayalakshmi is working as Asst. Lecturer in Veena in our college.
