As this institution has been established with certain reason, it was first took place as a school with 12 members. At that time Sri C.V.D. Murthy was the Director of Technical Education. Sri Srinivasan and V.G. Selvaraj were made as In-charge Superintendents of this institution for nearly one year and after that Nori Nagabhushanam was appointed as Superintendent and worked for nearly four years.
In 1966, Sri A. Mallikharjuna Sharma worked for nearly four years. In 1966, the post of Superintendent was upgraded as Principal. To that post, Sri Nookala Chinna Satyanarayana, the theory lecturer of Hyderabad Music and Dance college was transferred, promoted and appointed as Principal and he worked for two years. Sri G.N. Dantale worked for few months in this post. Later on, many Principals pursued their duties in this post.

Govt. School of Music and Dance, Secunderabad was upgraded as Govt. College of Music and Dance, Secunderabad in the year 1966. Sri Nookala Chinna Satyanarayana was the Principal of the college. The Certificate and Diploma courses were introduced in the year 1970. The college had Karnatic Vocal, Karnatic Veena, Violin, Kuchipudi Dance, Hindustani Vocal courses.
The college has transferred from Department of Technical Education to School Education Department in the year 1977. Later, in the year 1979, Kum. Srirangam Gopala Ratnam had worked for many years in this college as the Principal. The college has shifted to new premises with independent building on rent at West Marredpally in the year 1980. Later, the college has transferred from School Education to Cultural affairs Department in the year 1983. The college has renamed as SRI BHAKTHA RAMADASU GOVT. COLLEGE OF MUSIC AND DANCE.
Sri P.S. Ghotikar has taken charge as Principal, worked upto 1990 and retired on attaining the age of superannuation. Sri Akkella Mallikharjuna Sarma, had taken charge as Prinicpal upto 1993 and transferred to Sri Thyagaraja Government Music College. Later, Smt. V. Kanakadurga, had taken charge as Principal. The college was shifted to Padmarao Nagar. The college has shifted from Padmarao Nagar to West Marredpally on 2nd July, 2002 till date. Later, Sri Komanduri Seshadri had taken the charge as Principal from February , 2004. Later, Peri Sree rama murthy, N.Suvarna Latha, Ch.Sreera,a Chandra Murthy, L.Vijayalakshmi, P.V.S.Seshaiah Sastry and D. Seetaramaiah worked as Incharge Principals in this college.
Smt. Kandukuri Varalakshmamma, has taken charge from the year 2011 and working till now.
