Mridangam

Mridangam is the rhythmic instrument which is being used since the period of Lord Ganesha. Mridangam instrument is prepared by the skin of certain animals. And that's why it is being placed under the category of Charmavaadya. Mridangam has its own specialty in recreating the beauty of a concert. It is expressed as an important accompanying instrument in a concert. The legends T.K. Murthy, Umayalpuram K. Sivaraman, T.V Gopalakrishnan, Karaikudi Mani, Guruvayur Dorai, Mr & Mrs. Dandamoodi Rama Mohan rao, Yella Venkateswara Rao etc are sculpting this rhythmic essence to the INDIAN MUSIC.
